Choosing Your Perfect Wedding Dress

Possibly the most important thing a bride does is find that perfect wedding dress. As all eyes will be trained on her that special day, it’s vital that she has her dream dress. There’s much detail and drama that goes into locating and selecting just the right dress and you need to be aware of these.

After visiting many bridal shops, once you’ve narrowed it down to a couple that you truly love; you need to find out some things. If you want some changes made, is that possible? What is the feasibility of alterations and the cost of them? If you choose to get the bridesmaids dresses from the same shop, will there be discounts involved? Also ask about refund and cancellation policies. In the end, if you find a dress that you adore, go home and sleep on it. Then go back and look again. If you still love the dress, it’s time to buy it.

Once you’ve selected the dress, you’ll have measurements taken of your body to ensure that the dress fits perfectly. Nearly all wedding dresses need some changes. There are typically 3 fittings that will take place before the actual wedding day. These aren’t free so find out ahead of time how much they’ll cost. If you’re wearing a headpiece and veil, you should also be able to get this from the same shop. You’ll also need the right lingerie and shoes to match your dress.

You want the wedding dress of your dreams to fit you perfectly and, if you choose not to wear white, the color of the dress needs to match your personal color chart. For example, most redheads usually avoid the color pink because these two can clash. That’s why you’ll want to be sure that your dress only draws positive attention to you as you walk down the aisle.

As a side note, your bridesmaids don’t want to look silly so try to choose a color and style that will also flatter them. You don’t need to worry about any of them outshining you on your wedding day even though some mean spirited brides have been known to deliberately choose something horrible for their bridesmaids to wear. Let your attendants complement you, instead.
