Wedding Day Advice
Now that your relationship has managed to survive making all the plans necessary regarding your wedding, there are still some things that you need to know about getting through the BIG DAY itself. Keep in mind that rarely do weddings go off without a hitch and yours probably won’t be the exception. So be prepared for any eventuality and try to relax.
For the bride, the wedding day is usually the most stressful of them all. That’s why you should begin your day by relaxing in a bubble bath or getting a massage. Try to do this alone because it may be the only private time you get the rest of the day. People are going to be surrounding you and trying to get your attention. So if that thought makes you nervous, get a head start on relaxing.
Any appointments should be made well ahead of time and should include plenty of time to get hair, makeup and nails done. You may want to get a good friend that’s not part of the wedding attendants to be on hand for last minute errands. In that way, if there’s a sudden glitch, your friend can be called upon to deal with it. You may want to present this friend with a thank you gift for helping.
Arrive at the church with time to spare so you don’t have to rush to finish dressing. Bring extra tissues for emotional moments. Spend those last minutes right before the ceremony with your bridesmaids. Take deep breaths to calm your nerves and remember how happy you are to have the day finally here.
Grooms are typically pretty nervous on their wedding day. To cut down on stress, be sure you’ve completed all of your responsibilities. Double check on honeymoon travel plans, transportation, and the cost of anyone needing to be paid that day. Also, have plenty of cash on hand to tip.
Go ahead and sleep in because you’ll need as much rest as possible to get through the day.
You may even want to go for a long walk or jog to help calm any anxiety. Give yourself plenty of time to dress and get to the church early. Let your groomsmen joke around with you while waiting for the ceremony and breathe deeply.
